“Masking” appears to be more complex than it is. It’s a visual effect that we frequently see in video, and it uses layers. In this installment of Izzy Video, I introduce you to the concept of “masking”. I also briefly explain what the “Alpha Channel” is.

I’m glad you liked it. The Alpha Channel can be a bit confusing for someone who has never used it before.
Masking is a bit complex, but my goal is to make things as simple as possible. It’s certainly difficult to do in five minutes!

I agree, they’re complex subjects. I was introduced to photographic masking in college by a lecturer who, after sixty confusing minutes, made me want to avoid the concept forever!
