Izzy Video 156 – Why Can’t I Add a Transition in Final Cut Express (or Final Cut Pro)?
You need Adobe Flash Player to view this video.
If you’re having trouble adding transitions to your sequence in Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro, this video should help.
I have received this same question from many different viewers, and rather than answer them all individually, I thought it would make sense to make a video that shows you:
- Why the problem happens
- How to fix it
- How to work around it if it’s not something you CAN fix
I hope you find it helpful.

Thanks for the instruction on this one!
But why not just insert some blank footage in between the two clips and do your transition there? Why lose valuable frames if you don’t have any to spare?

Thanks for that video. It is very helpful. My next question would be, How to add transitions to “green screen” clips without them fading to a green background?
Thanks.
