Izzy Video 152 – How to Edit Footage from Multiple Cameras
If you’re shooting video of a live event, it’s best to have several cameras capturing at the same time. Generally, the more angles you have on the action, the better.
This installment of Izzy Video is how to edit the footage from all of those cameras. The application I use in the tutorial is Final Cut Pro, but you can likely do similar things in other editing applications.
If you want to know how to switch between different camera angles inside Final Cut Pro, you’ll love this video.
Please note: The project files will only work in Final Cut Pro 7.
This one is for members only, but you can watch the Quicktime trailer here.
If you want access to this tutorial as well as the large library of archived videos, you need to become an Izzy Video Member.

I too feel like I scored the jackpot with these videos. Izzy, you are making an awesome contribution to the world utilizing your natural teaching ability coupled with your technical knowledge.
Q: I’ve actually seen enough tutorials like this current one laying out the basics of multicam editing. What I’m still trying to figure out is how to edit the clips individually after they’ve been ‘chopped up.’ Like, say I want to change the color of the entire length of one camera angle but it’s already cut up in pieces.
btw, do you ever get requests about how to develop a video business?

Hi Greg,
Great idea for a future edition of Izzy Video. I’ll note that one for sure.
Yes, sometimes I get requests for people asking me to do material on building a video business. It’s a great idea. Personally I haven’t done a lot of client work. My business has been mostly online video production, creating original content. You might want to check out what I’m doing at http://biz.izzyvideo.com.
Anyway, I hope that helps. And of course, thanks for the kind words. :-)

Hi, I bought a 6-month membership but am not sure how to access the videos. I have a tiny mini grant to make some short, 20 min or less, videos of demonstrations and information I do for my painting and drawing classes. I believe the first will be the hardest as this is when I need to learn everything and then some. I have the script, timing, sets, props, and storyboard done. Now I need to learn about multiple cameras [we have several and tri-pods and a rolling tri-pod] lights, video with slr digital cameras, shooting with multiple cameras, audio etc. I use macs, have i-photo, idvd, itunes and Final Cut Pro. Just got final cut, it looks scary. Please advise how to get to the videos you list. And thanks, this is a great help, a gift from God, actually a gift from Izzy.
