Izzy Video 074 – High Def vs. Standard Def

In this video I show some differences between the imagery from a High Definition camera and the imagery from a Standard Definition camera.
I used my Canon GL-2 to shoot the standard definition footage, and I used my brand new Sony XDCAM EX to shoot the high definition footage.
Do I like the new camera? I love it!

That was a really effective demonstration. I hope my standard-definition Canon XM2 doesn’t have an ‘accident’ any time soon…

I’ve been outputting standard definition at 720p and 1080i for youtube. Here’s an example at 1080i:

Going from 480 to 720 or 1080 isn’t that big a bump, but capturing in 1080 would of course be better.
I’m not sure why they thought going to GOP was a good idea.
