Izzy Video 059 – Cam Twist

This weekend I’m getting extremely informal by doing a quick demo of a free application called “Cam Twist” (Mac-only). It allows you to add special effects in real time using your webcam. As you’ll see from the video, you can also use it to capture your computer screen as if it were a video source.
It’s a fun app to play with!
* Note: A special thanks to Leo Laporte who mentioned he was using Cam Twist on his radio show The Tech Guy. I discovered the app from him. No surprise though. I’m always learning new stuff from that guy!
This video is for members only.

Hi, I’ve been seeing a new style of cutting to a new shot in recent music videos and it was used repeatedly in Hott Fuzz.. Its done in this music video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Lt6o8NlrbHg) at seconds 23-24, 42-43, then at the 1 min mark. It continues to be done through out the music video. I think it could be done in FCP by layering the clips then using the crop tool..But, it doesn’t seem to work as well for me as it does in the vid.
Thanks
-Robert
PS. Love the site.

Hi Izzy. Thanks for the tip. One question. Same as Topdog2k1. What program did you use to record the video? I attempted to use Quicktime Pro, but couldn’t find a way to change the quality settings so my video looked pretty bad. Thank you for your assistance.
