Why Can’t I Add a Transition in Final Cut Express? (Or Final Cut Pro?) – Izzy Video 156

Loading the player …

Sometimes when you try to add a transition in Final Cut Express, it doesn’t work. You might see an error. Or you might not show you an error, but it still doesn’t work. Or you might be able to add a transition, but you can’t increase the duration of it.

Final Cut Express can be tricky with transitions sometimes. If you’re having trouble adding transitions to your sequence in Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro, this video should help.

I have received this same question from many different viewers, and rather than answer them all individually, I thought it would make sense to make a video that shows you:

  • Why does a transition problem happen in Final Cut Express?
  • How do you fix the problem?
  • How to work around it if it’s not something you CAN fix

This video applies to both Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro.

I hope you find it helpful.
