Sometimes we need to show text on the screen in our videos.
Of course, we could simply put the text on a black background. There’s nothing wrong with that really, though it can get a bit boring.
(Still, sometimes it feels like the right thing to do.)
Or you could put a solid color behind the text.
The truth is that we actually have many, many different options for what we can put behind the text in our videos.
In this new tutorial, I demonstrate how you can create your own custom organic particle backgrounds. These are perfect for using as a video background behind text.

The great thing about this technique is that it’s mostly done in the camera, so you don’t have to mess around with motion graphics software.
It’s a simple, but visually rich effect. And it’s something you can use over and over.
