Register for my free session at Podcamp AZ on November 3rd

PodcampAZ Logo
I’m going to do a free session called “Improve Your Online Video” on November 3rd at Podcamp AZ. The Podcamp is free. My session is free. You can follow this link to register. If you can make it to Phoenix on November 3rd, please join us. I’m hoping to see as many of you there as possible.

Following is the description for my session:

Aesthetically, most web video is pretty horrible. Because folks don’t know how easy it is to create good video, they make major blunders. They shoot up their own nostrils; they distort their faces with incorrect lens settings; they ignore audio quality. Avoid these pitfalls! Beginner or pro? Come join the discussion.

Oh, and by the way, I believe Podcamp AZ is going to be streamed live over the internet using Ustream.tv, so if you can’t make it to Phoenix on November 3rd, you can still enjoy much of the event.

Finally, my friend, Justine Ezarik (yes, the iPhone “Bill in a Box Video” Justine), is having a Photoshop contest to help promote Podcamp AZ. Maybe you’d like to participate?

Izzy on Digital Production Buzz

I just want to say ‘thank you’ to Philip Hodgetts and Michael Horton for having me on their show. It was a lot of fun!

I’m including a link to the show in the RSS feed, something I rarely do, but I think the Izzy Video audience would really enjoy “Digital Production Buzz.”

What a great show! Editing tips, interviews, and news. I’m certainly a subscriber!

Thank you, Metacafe!

I want to say “Thank You” to Metacafe for using several Izzy Video episodes as part of their new production school - which, by the way, is a great resource for people wanting to learn how to shoot better video. Not only do they have some of my video tutorials, but they also have a number of excellent articles.

Please take a moment to visit this new section of their website and check out what they’ve put together as a free resource.

Additional note: Metacafe has licensed the content of the selected Izzy Video episodes for a small fee. If anyone out there would like to do something similar on their website (also in a non-exclusive way), I’d be happy to discuss it with you. :-) You can reach me, as always, at israelhyman (at) gmail dot com.

Izzy Interviewed on TV

For those of you interested in seeing a couple interviews with me, I thought I’d post links.

The first link is to a television show called “Torrent” formerly hosted by Amber MacArthur, now hosted by Matt Harris (who’s doing a great job filling those large shoes). Matt interviewed me at the Podcast Expo a few weeks ago. You can see the interview here. It’s the episode labeled TOR024.

Also, Andy and Sean from Labrats.tv did a short interview with me. They have an entertaining show with a wild sense of humor (let’s just say that this episode ends with Andy taking off his pants), and I was flattered that they pulled me aside for this interview. Here is a link to the episode.

Thank you, Matt, Andy, and Sean for the interviews.

Incidentally, thank you, Craig Syverson for recommending Izzy Video in your interview.

My thoughts after watching the interviews? I need to start working out, and I smile way too much! :-)

Vloggies? New to me, but I’d still like to win!

I was at my friend Eric Rice’s blog, and read his post saying that the Vloggies are still accepting submissions. It looks like Izzy Video was nominated for “Best Vlog” and “Best Educational Vlog”.

From the The Vloggies website:

The nominations process will close on Oct. 18 and the voting will begin on Oct. 20 and end on Oct. 27. So keep those nominations coming, and thank you for participating and recognizing this wonderful community!

I guess I’m a little too shy to nominate myself for anything, but I’m not too shy to beg for votes once voting starts.

Izzy To Be Interviewed Today on The Anywhere Office, Internet Radio Show

Today I’m going to be interviewed on “The Anywhere Office”, www.theanywhereoffice.com, an excellent internet radio show. I’ve listened to their shows and they are very interesting.

I think they’ll be asking me about video podcasting and my background in video. If you’d like to listen live, their show will start at 2pm EST/11am PST. It lasts one hour, and my interview starts about half-way through. Just go to www.theanywhereoffice.com and look for the “Click Here to Listen” button.

If you’d like to hear it, but can’t be there for the specific time, there will be a downloadable MP3 in their archives later today I believe.

Anyway, if you hear the interview, please leave me feedback in the comments of this post.

What kind of show is The Anywhere Office? From their website:

Do you think work life balance is some type of circus trick? Have you spent time trying to apply the concepts of feng shui to your virtual office? Are you so busy that your to-do list has a table of contents, and you’re wondering if technology could help lighten your load? Then you don’t want to miss a single broadcast of “The Anywhere Office”! This live, entertaining and informative weekly talk show hosted by brothers Phil and Jason Montero takes a big picture approach to the philosophies and strategies of navigating today’s digital lifestyle. “The Anywhere Office” covers topics such as: work life balance, home offices, virtual teams, virtual offices, mobile work technology and all aspects of the changing world of work. While targeted at mobile professionals, remote workers, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and solo professionals; Phil & Jason’s knowledge, humor, and insight make “The Anywhere Office” of interest to anyone dealing with living a digital lifestyle.
