Izzy Video 85 - Light Source Sizes

The size of the light source you use when lighting a person’s face makes an enormous difference. It transforms the quality of the light. In this installment of Izzy Video I show the difference between a bare bulb, small, medium, and large Chimera light banks. Visually, this really demonstrates my point — particularly in the High Definition version of the video.
This episode is available in iPod/iPhone format and in High Definition.

Hi Izzy
I enjoyed your video about the differences between the siz of the light box/bank. Can your share the name of the company for both the light used and the light box. If possible, please include a link to the company web site.
Thank You

I’d be very interested in seeing a comparison and contrast between traditional lights like you are showing here, and LED lighting, which seems to be the “new thing”. THere are some interesting lighting kits out there with 1 foot square LED lights, available with both tungsten and daylight coloration, and both spot and flood characteristics. They are more expensive, but also allow options that regular lights don’t. When, why, and how much?
Thanks for the videos. Keep up the great work!

Hi Steve,
At this moment I don’t own any LED lights, but they’re on my “wish list”. Once I get my hands on some, I’ll make a video about them.
I’m also very interested in LED lights. I’ve read so many great things about them, it seems like they’re going to be a big part of lighting in the future.
