Since many of you wanted to know where I bought Blake’s “Jumpers” as seen in episode 50, I thought I’d go ahead and post a link.
Extreme Toys for Boys is a great place to get them. Excellent service, and I highly recommend them.
Oh, and the stilts themselves are endless fun. You get a lot of attention from people at the park.

This is far off the subject of video, although it’s slightly connected through the brilliant Apple commercials featuring “I’m a Mac. I’m a PC.”
The news is simply this:
The iTunes store is giving away the funniest audiobook I’ve ever heard. It’s called “The Areas of My Expertise,” and it’s written and read by John Hodgman (think “I’m a PC”).
The thing is brilliant, and I’ve been laughing all morning. Please trust me on this one, and follow this link. It will open the iTunes Store, where you will find the book available for download (free at the time I’m writing this).
As Hodgman frequently says on his own blog…
That is all.

My guess is that many viewers in the Izzy Video audience are also registered Digg users. Recently, Digg added a new Podcast section, and I saw that Amit submitted the Izzy Video feed to their database (thanks, Amit). As of when I’m writing this, Izzy Video has 2 diggs, one from Amit and one from me. Ha!
Please help support Izzy Video by following this link and digging Izzy Video. It’s quick and easy, and it’s a great way to introduce the podcast to more people.
All diggs are very much appreciated!

It appears that someone searched for the phrase “dirty video podcast” and was referred to Izzy Video.
They must have been pretty disappointed once they got here!

Would you like to know how to use the Time Remap tool in Final Cut Pro?
My guess is that other video editors have a similar tool, but I don’t know. It’s certainly quite useful, but there isn’t a lot of documentation on the web about the Time Remap Tool, so I thought I’d offer a basic introduction.
You can create some really clever effects using the Time Remap tool. I frequently see it used in car commercials and extreme sporting footage. With the Time Remap Tool, you can do variable speed changes in your video, and in Izzy Video 50, I show you the basics of how to do it.

I recently listened to the newest episode of The iLife Zone Podcast, and I was impressed with their tips for shooting better video and for improving editing in iMovie. I’m new to the podcast. I think it was the second episode I’d heard, but I was so impressed that they’ve made me a subscriber moving forward.
One of the hosts, Derrick Story, also wrote a great “Top 10 Tips” article on shotting better video, entitled appropriately “Top Ten Digital Video Tips” which was written in June 2003, but it’s still just as true now in 2006. The seasoned veterans in the Izzy Video audience might not learn many new things from either the episode or the article, but you all know how much I believe in reviewing the basics. I’d recommend checking them both out.
You can’t review the basics often enough, in my opinion. Just like anything else that’s skill-based, it’s important to “return to fundamentals” from time to time.
