It’s Noell’s Birthday today. Because I’ll be spending the day focused on her (and on keeping the kids from driving her nuts), there will be no new Izzy Video this weekend.
Also, I’m trying to come up with ideas for #50, which so far I’m struggling with…
If you’d like to join me in wishing Noell a “Happy Birthday”, please consider popping over to paperclipping.com to leave her a comment.

Even when we’re trying to do otherwise, sometimes we all shoot bad video. This installment of Izzy Video puts my flaws under a spotlight. This is an opportunity for you to learn from my mistakes!

Lifehacker must be one of the best blogs on the internet. Their range of subjects varies wildly, but I frequently find their posts interesting. And I’m addicted to it. I read it every day.
Today I enjoyed the article on shooting video titled, “8 Ways to Shoot Video Like a Pro.” More great stuff.
The article presents old concepts in a fresh way. Almost all of the steps are ones that I’ve covered extensively in Izzy Video. But one of them – the first one, in fact – is one I’ve never mentioned. What is it? It’s “Read the Manual.” Such a great sense of humor too! Great writing, great fun.
The article is short, but worth reading.

I’m starting to feel a little burn out over the video podcast thing, so I think I’m going to take a short vacation.
I won’t be putting a show up this weekend, and I might take the next weekend or two off as well.
For now, my intention is to return with new content in the near future, so I appreciate your patience.

My camera is still off at the shop, but I found some footage in my computer that I decided to use for this installment of Izzy Video. Try not to pay attention to the expression on Noell’s face. She was listening to a serious scientific talk via the internet, so she was hardly even aware that I was working around her.
:-)
This week’s installment of Izzy Video introduces the idea of four-point lighting, instead of the more frequently covered three-point lighting.
